Explaining White Tiger as the Root of Taoism

A year is divided into 24 solar terms, and the 3rd solar term is “Jingzhe”. One will notice people flocking to taoist temples on the day of Awakening of Insects (Jing Zhe) to pray to the Tiger God once a year. This day normally falls on the 5th/6th/7th March. It got its name from the fact that animals sleeping in winter are awakened by spring thunder and that the earth begins to come back to life. The Awakening of Insects signals a rise in temperature and increased rainfall.It refers to the day all the animals are awaken from their hibernation and start commencing on food hunting activities. And the most feared among all the animals is the ferocious tiger. The chinese would offer fat pork lard, green beans, duck eggs and incense paper to the White Tiger God. In 2024, this day will fall on 5th March 2024 at 10:21hrs.

White Tiger is also a Celestial Body

The White Tiger is actually one of the many constellations and a vicious one. It will move to a different position every year. For example in 2023, the White Tiger will enter into the Palace of “Hai”, and will affect those born under the zodiac signs Pig, Rabbit, Sheep and Snake. Unfortunately, another palace “Chou’ is also afflicted, therefore harming the Ox too. The negative energy influence will cause these signs to face problems like villains, lawsuit, legal problems, accidents and illnesses.
